Why the plate is paper when the counts began as a file

Our records often arrive as files. The sitting still uses paper. This is not a nostalgia act for Gorgasali Street. It is because a plate can be turned, marked, and left in the middle of the table while people disagree. A live picture is argued with as if it were still being made.

Giorgi draws in iron-gall recipes we keep consistent from pack to pack, on stock that yellows in a known way. If a plate is later compared with a monthly note, the family resemblance is visible. A screenshot from someone else’s meeting is not.

During a sitting Nino will sometimes put a second plate over the first to show a shorter window. That gesture is clumsy on a wall projection and ordinary with paper. Visitors who need a file copy receive a scan after the sitting. The scan is a record of the plate, not a replacement for it.
